CAMPBELL, California, May 20, 2010 Business Intelligence pioneer and Saama CEO Suresh Katta will be honored with the prestigious Sanganak Sarathi IT Award – bestowed annually upon young IT entrepreneurs and professionals from Pune, India – for his contribution to the field of Information Technology. Katta will receive the award, in memory of the late Rajiv Gandhi Sanganak, tonight at the Mahatma Phule Museum Hall in Pune, India.
“It is such an honor to receive this award,” said Katta. “It is representative of the importance of technology in building and growing strong partnerships in both community and business. Without the support of the talented and bright people I’m fortunate to work with on a daily basis, this award would not be possible.”

Katta has more than 20 years experience in IT, having spent his career focused upon building innovative software solutions within business intelligence (BI) and data management. He founded Saama Technologies, a pure-play BI solution provider, in 1997 with a vision of bringing actionable intelligence to the masses. He has since built the company to serve dozens of global Fortune 500 companies based upon his innovative approach to promoting emerging technologies with proven products to improve business efficiencies.
Prior to founding Saama, Suresh spent several years at Silicon Graphics during its high-growth phase. Previously, he founded and co-founded several companies focused on producing innovative software solutions, including GVI, which developed groupware applications (and was eventually sold to Netscape in 1995), and Multisoft, which developed and marketed high-end graphics products for the Indian market.
Suresh is internationally- recognized for his pioneering IT work. He has been a discussion panel member and featured speaker for multiple IT conferences and has been featured by the international BeyeNETWORK. He earned his MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Southwest Louisiana and his BS in Electronics Engineering from University of Bangalore in India.
